1. Not going anywhere near Paris 2. Not heading for Geneva.

Will be doing the Reims, Troyes, Dijon, Grenoble trip.

We are very much looking forward to the ski drive holibobs at easter.
Should be very good and could potentially be the way forward for the future.
I personally am sick and tired of the TO and the b******t they come out with when there is the smallest problem.
Saying that, we are going with one again this weekend so maybe my bitterness will be reduced somewhat.

I drove to Les Arcs and didn't use my car once. Didn't need to and it was great. However, in Austria where we now ski it's necessary to get to the gondola and we prefer driving to it, than the ski bus. preference that's all. Another post said about skiing in different areas. A great bonus to have a car, but when you've kids in ski school then it's not so possible to do that.

Interesting that the N roads in France are empty. What are they like ie. size / speed etc.

A bit like A roads here without the traffic but they are slower than the auto-routes obviously ..as to the convenience of a car..I was stopping about 3 minutes drive from the Morrillon lift and about 15 minutes from Les Gets and 15 from Pra De Lys and 20 from Morzine....we weren't bored

Anyone on here driven to Geneva using the N roads?

We always drive, avoid Saturdays (can be a bit busy in school holidays) and don't find the autoroutes a problem. Never sure if using N roads is worth the saving.

You have omitted the lost time spent:

Queueing for check in (No queues at 4.30am last time).

Queueing for the ritual humiliation that is airport security (Ditto, no queues - and I'd rather be safe than sorry)

Queueing to board (Maybe 35 people on the flight, guess what? no queues)

Queueing at Immigration on arrival, since you are from a non Schengen country (Straight through, no messing)

Waiting for luggage to arrive, assuming it got loaded on the plane (Luggage and skis (free carriage) waiting for us as we came through immigration)

Waiting for coach to resort/queueing to get hire car (Used the train, waited 10 minutes, on the slopes five hours after take-off).

et al.....(my case rests, your honour). Not planning to drive anywhere for skiing again! However, I do have to point out this was neither Easyjet nor Ryanair on Saturday!
