Once you post answers you CAN NOT change answers! I hope this will help all enjoy quizz and learn about skiing! If any of you need more clarification or want to propose other rules please do so! Oh....yes previous winners are welcome to try for prize! |
Caron-a,
Sorry for great delay,,I am busy on some projects! The ski Fanatic site is a store in Eastern USA which has the very best deals I have seen! I bought my Spyder Underwear there for $20,,when regular price is $120! Think globally! Just look at the numbers! $20 for underwear,,,$6 shipping!!!! The owner has a CAM so you can see product! I can recommend this place since it has just quality ski material! Again I have nothing to do with store! Let me give you all another example. I have a friend who works at an Alaskian ski resort! She has one ski shop in area and prices are.........out of this world! I send her two pairs of powder skis! Priced for her here $250 and $400! Shipping via Fedex $27 per ski! Same skis in Alaska were $700 and $1,300!!!! If you do go to Whistler,,,,plan a day stay at Vancouver! You can buy all sorts of ski equipement at very very low prices! Then go enjoy your skiing! |
Hirsty,
You are so right. I have just reserved two weeks to my favorite ski resort with my two sons for March 2009 and it is 'cheaper" in 2009 than 2000! They even were willing to have free ski lessons for one week! My advice to all "serious" skiers is to; 1. Make plans early 2. Look for real deals 3. Not be afraid to ask for better price 4. Look for resorts that are known to make snow and keep slopes well groomed! Small hint: Many ski resorts and hotels will allow a free trip if you get 20 skiers or more! Just now start to "collect" those bodied! Many ski resorts also have free skiing for "mature" skiers like DaveMac that are 75 years and older or 5 years and younger! Many skiers also allow cerified ski instructors to ski free if you have your "card" and a letter from ski center Director! |
Just sold my "ski" car so I can take a few trips to Utah.
Just sold my two windsurfers so I can take another trip to Europe Just took on an "extra" project in Middle East to pay for ski trip to Alaska. Just took an inventory of my skis to determine which I must "sell" Just accepted 50 more students in Tuning course so I can get an extra two weeks in Alberta. Just sold a 15 pair Thule ski carrier for $300 so I can get season pass at local ski resort! Soon will be inviting some of you to share costs during my trips! (I am doing video in 10 ski resorts)! It is a question of priorities! Skiing to me is number 1 so,,,, |
Just preparing Summer Ski quizz for all of you,,,,, so please keep thinking skiing and reading all about skiing since this quiz will "tax" you mind!
The prize will be some leather ski gloves with a national team logo on top! If you have any issues about leather gloves rest assured these gloves are from cows that have lived a long long happy life on open ranges and only once they had a "natural' death did humans use all the natural by-products from this animal! The gloves are size "large" and have been trained to ski with modern poles and skis! The right glove is the dominant one so if you are left handed you may have to re-train gloves! The quiz will last three weeks. Once instructions and information given Pavel will no longer provide "support"! Well perhaps some comments and encouragement! This will be a "criterion-referenced" evaluation project in which a set success level will be established. The first one to get to success level will get prize! The quiz will sample three abilities; 1. divirgent thinking skills 2. "higher order" vertical association skills ( see Bloom if in doubt) 3. "creative responce" type thinking ie thinking outside the box. In short using Google to get answers will not help you! You must think, associate, and search creatively to win these gloves! Be prepared! Have fun. |
Lonni,
Welcome to this site! Love your ski outfit! Pavel |
Positive comments about new look.
I have Mac and Pc platforms but spend 90% of time on Mac! All coments will be based on Mac G 5 quad HD! First let me comment on the "clean" look of the layout. It helps greatly in the "reading" of the texts and messages. On top left hand side you have Candian, American and ???? flags Smart phones and future PDA and Iphones! Not sure if easy to find! On top right hand side in the search box ( that is where you type in text I can just see barely the Google logo and text "custom Search" You also have search logo just above USER line at the right hand section! This may "confuse some" Two search options with different texts and logos? I assume the one above the user line is search for chat issues? A possible future change. The "window used to type in this message is "small" Can you not increase space to right of this window. Presently all I have is blank space! Also to increase text window size,,is it possible to move "options" to left aligned with Message body! In this manner you will have more vertical space whixh is what most people want! The options are used once or twice,,then forgetten! Please keep "commericial" ads to minimum in text pages since the most important reason skiers go on your site is to "share" ideas, feelings and experiences" That is the raison d'etre! Checked the speeds on both Mac and PC for furfing and using your site and both equal! |
RoseR,
Silk is one of the very best insulation/warmth underwear , however with the new materials on market you can get equivalent underwear that are very efficient! The matter to consider is not only warmth but also transfer of body "water" ie sweat! Many high tech underwear allow sweat to transfer out yet maintain heat in. Lifa, Spyder, Helly Hasen and North Face are some of the better brands! Now if you are a real fanatic and want great ,,I mean great underwear get the new Spyder underwear! It has so many great features that if I list them all, it will seem that I am selling the product! Just trust me,,it beats all others and I have all the "others"! This underwear is so "cool" that you can wear it in ski chalet and it looks like "racing suit"! I wore just the top in a ski bar and all wanted to know how I got the great racing T-shirt! Hope this helps you! Oh,,,it is rated for -40 also! |
