My my we have some early starters for this quizz!
Dave will post (insert a picture) in the first question on Monday! All participants will see picture at same time and will have to identify or explain what the function of these items are! Yes it is withing the context of a ski week! A successful ( happy) ski week, involves not just skiing on slopes! If I was to "look into" (which I am never allowed to do so) my wife's or girls ski bags I will find these items! Using Google for this first item may be useful if you look very carefully at items and perceive key elements of item! For non-North American skiers one item will cause you "concern",,how ever you will have learnt a very important item that you must sample at least once in your lifetime! Have fun! |

If you are an "outdoor women", a women that thinks ahead you will have no doubt identify at least 4 items. I like to make people think so yes some items you will have to ask others what they are! All are functional, all are "essential" for the modern women! Where the discussion will occur will be on the type of skier and women you are! I belive all well rounded skier (women) should have these items on every trip! Think outside the box! Have a "large" viewpoint. Think like an "independant" women! Be ready for,,,,,,, One item will cause British and European women "problems" due to packaging! I can assure all women that ALL women skiers have this item and use this item a great deal while skiing!!! (just not this prized very item) It will be one of the surprise items hidden in the coat! |

I have sent to Dave ( site Guru) the first item on quizz. It will be posted for Monday morning. Allow me to set context of this item. You are a women who has decided to go on ski holiday by yourself (or with another women) specifically to improve your skiing level a "quantum" step! In short you want ski for yourself and really "soar" for one week with a private ski instructor! Your goal is to become an "efficient skier"! You will see 10 articles you should always bring with you on such trips! You must name 9 out of 10 articles or their function in order to get question right. These articles are not "women specific" thus the men who wish to try to win this quizz may identify the articles!However women will "perceive" some items faster than men! PS. There is a "cultural" or regional bias in some of these items enjoy discovering what these items are for and why they are so needed! |

I strugggled with this one for many weeks! I realized that perhaps I was "revealing" to much about our hidden "values"! Thanks for the comments. All I can saw is you have a great wife, skiing partner and,,,,,soulmate! Now I know where I can send my Volk Super G 210 cm! Did you know that in my region there is a ski race which allows only +205 cm skis to be used! They must also be 10 years or older! There is a prize for the skier who has traveled the longest distance to get to race! Should I send you an entry form! I will pay the fee and even give you those Super G skis! Really! Speaking of ice! My wife took a ski course a day after it rained and then hit -15! Sheer wall to wall ice! Most skiers would have gone home. She stayed and now loves ice! She understands how to "modify" your skiing technique for ice! Good luck in the contest! May the best women win! ( am pretty sure you will not Dave) |

Of course you can try to win this jacket ( as all men can), however you will get "fierce" competition since I suspect women will want to win this one for the jacket but also to show men skiers on this site that they can research with Goggle as well as men. Also they will get some items faster than you!I suspect also they will "discover" some problem solving strategies to help them get answers! Have fun men! I have just finished selecting all the questions for the quizz and I must make one hint and comment to all of you! One of the questions is a picture à la Pavel! That is, there are many ski objects which I feel a women must have (on a ski trip) Some objects women will identify right away! There is one object which I am sure you all will say is a cell phone! If you really kew me,,you would not even consider this! So I am pro-active and telling all participants that the top right object in picture IS NOT a cell phone! I am sure the picture will generate lots of discussion! The really really sharp women will quickly note the items in the picture. The really exceptional women skier will also note the more "difficult" items! I expect a women like Bandit to get all the items! We will see! |

So you have read the 30% women skier post! Ever wonder what the other 70% of women skiers do to make that ski holiday great? Here it is! This is a result of "observations" and personal research! 1. This is perhaps the very most important point that all smart women do to make that ski holidat great! Refuse to take lessons from boyfriend/husband/friend of husband/local bartender/boss/lover etc,,,,, Trust me! Look around for a great ski instructor who is qualified,acceptable and learn faster with no ego issues! 2. Get better than "him"! Men will not admitt this,,but secretly all men love to try to catch up to a great women skier! It is that famous "chase" context! Just watch a great women skier go down an expert run! An instant silence! Male skiers seem to be frozen! All eyes are on,,,,, The ski slope is a great equalizer,,there are not male/female runs! Just watch this winter! 3.Know more about skiing! That 70% are learning about all aspects of skiing. Should I get specific? All skiers admire someone who knows,,,,,really knows about skiing! If you want to become better you will have no choice but to learn about;ski design,ski performance, ski tradition, etc,,,,, 4.Never but never complain about ski conditions! A great skier skis all sorts of conditions.A great skier adapts skiing style to conditions! You become better when skiing gets tough,,,,stay on hill and meet the real skiers! (the rest are at the bar complaining about too much sun, too much ice, too much snow, etc,,) Not sure if 70% of women practice this right now but many are discovering the "other ski conditions"! 5.This last item may cause some "issues" with couples or live in "partners" but if really you want to be a great skier you must "practice" this! I see more and more women actively practicing this point! You take charge of your skiing material!That means you must know your skiing needs and goals and do not others tell you what is best for you! Let me provide an excellent example! I met a neighbour who skis and is lokking for new pair of skis, I offered her a great ski at 80% off retail value! She was interested but had to "consult" her ex! He tells her the ski is too good for her, too high performance, too "hot"! Two hours later guess who calls me about the ski! It is not magic or very complex ,,thus 70% of women are getting to know about skiing and make their own decisions about their needs! No ski is too hot for a women! No ski run is too difficult for a women! No ski condition is too bad for a women! 70% of women know this! It all depends on your atittude and skiing competence! |

I am sorry, I do not understand the question, "where is it?"! If you are referring to Jacket, it is in my home! As to your other questions , I see you are not aware of the Pavel quizz rules and conditions. Here they are; You will have one week to "research" questions. Yes, you will PM me your answers and I will keep them "confidential", however I will post your score on general posting! First person who gets pass score will be winner. If more than one person gets passing score the one who has sent first (earliest) PM will get jacket. In cases of conflict or discussion on "my answers" I will accept Dave's decision! He is the site's ultimate guard! Karen you can see the "pressure" on all participants. If you wait too long to answer, you may get all answers but if are too late others may get them also! If you rush and get a few answers,,,,,, Please everyone this is first and above all a "fun" activity and also an educational one! I hope that at end of this "event" women skiers will understand some aspects important to their skiing. I hope also that you all learn about this sport and some of the "important people and practises" which made this sport what it is! As far as the "hidden" gifts, these are just objects I get from ski companies who wish to "bias" me in my evaluation process. I just pass them along to others! I know for sure at least one of the "gifts" will provide many happy memories to the winner since it will be used every day! ( not just on ski days) Quizz will begin on Monday September 15th 2008 and end on Friday 19th. 12 PM ( London time)! I will try not to give "hints" as the week goes on,,but your imaginations and "creative" thinking will I am sure motivate me to do so! I have tried to be fair and used questions that will sample all your "mental" abilities! Have fun! |
