Try making a few enquiries, with those on the bottom of your desirability list. You will need to go for full medical disclosure. Judge their responses before making an approach to the insurance sellers of preferred choice. Before, you do this, read thoroughly the small print on how their underwriters view existing medical conditions, as the criteria for refusal of cover do seem to vary quite widely.

I recently advised my insurance provider about a sore and swollen knee. Their emailed response was to withdraw cover from any condition "relating to the condition". No condition had been diagnosed at that time or since.
Quite frankly I was somewhat dismayed, since they didn't even pause to ask which knee
For the UK market, this was the response of one of the longstanding industry leaders in ski insurance, and our policy (for 2)cost £198 per yr.
If anyone wants to know which company, or would like to see the emails, please pm me.

anyone help me with the choice - which will have best ski conditions Xmas / New Year time?

Tignes is the safest bet for your Xmas/New Year trip. Even if (and don't even consider it) there is a dry start to the winter, then you can ski on the glacier at Tignes. If you are in Meribel, you will have a long journey to high altitude snow under those circs.

You know you could take some medicine if you're feeling unwell.

That is, if you're so inclined :P
Leaving the planning until July???? That's a bit late
