It's pretty well a wet white out right now, just skied down for lunch, and we are both a bit soggy.
OH has discovered the downside of skiing with his Giro 9 vent plugs out  ise I have been skiing that shortcut you jumped into the other day, so far I have managed to avoid both the rocks and the shrubs :D The snow up top is glorious, but the visibility is 1 marker pole  |
Karen, we used to have a Passat, and we had snow chains, however models vary, and your car may have less space inside the wheel arch. This means that some of the chunky chains may not have enough space, and the chain can catch on the wheel arch, or the suspension leg, or the brake bits, or worse still, you could not turn the steering properly. I would be very wary of buying chains from ebay.
I trust the folks at the Roofbox Co to give sensible guidance. Ian Wickham posted the link earlier. They will tell you which brand of chains to go for. They also do rental, though I have not used that service. Don't worry too much about the alloy wheels debate, get the size and brand of chain right and it will cease to be an agenda item. |
Thanks Adele, I'll do my best :D I can't see me keeping the iseman on his toes, more like making him nod off, I would have to catch him 1st  It's snowing hard here at the moment, and it's due to get rather windy as well  |
To follow your tracks from the top of the ridge I would need a parachute  |
Don't worry Adele, I'll post my photos when I get back to the UK :D |
I saw that no-one had followed your tracks when we went up this morning :D
