Just been to dig my car out. It was buried up above the bonnet, which is a wee bit taller than yours. Not found our parking place signpost yet though

Went up on Grimentz today, beautiful deep powder, and I ran over a rock

Plenty of slide activity, notably the top right hand side of the Tsarva piste has vanished under debris

It certainly looks like the bindings have broken free. From other racers' comments there was wind which caught under the tips of others skis at that point and there were some other near accidents.
AFAIK he is in an induced coma, with head and lung injuries.

Anyway, does anyone else suffer from terrible disorientation in poor visibility? It must be very common. Would it be vertigo?
I feel sick and dizzy. I sit back on my heels and turn into a complete numpty. I'm not the best to start with, but on a very 'dull' day I forget all I ever knew.

Yes, it's really common.
For me it goes like...

The surface is white...the sky is white...all around me is white....so which way is up?
Splat

I'm not as bad as I used to be, and I do think it goes with more time on skis, and it becomes less "survival" and more about feeling the snow.

Next time you are skiing, try finding somewhere really gentle and quiet and ski slowly with your eyes shut for a few moments to really feel what is going on underfoot.

That's the lift at Grand Montet, bandit and I have discussed that before :D I think it's a amazing cheek, the day pass isn't any cheaper than anywhere else and they have the nerve to have a leaflet telling you it's great value because if you don't use that lift you don't pay for it.

I remember that discussion

It revolved around me saying it was possible to ski, and enjoy Argentiere without going to the top......and you calling me names. Hmmmmm

What is that quote? - A bad day on the mountain is better than a good day treating a wall with wood oil!!!!!!!

Quite, but the wall still needed doing and I did ski through to a very late lunch!

Hi martis welcome to J2 ski :D Chamonix.net has lots of info about the valley resorts. They have this currently on their lift pages

Les Houches is its own ski resort. Le Prarion is accessible with the Mont Blanc Unlimited Pass, but to ski Les Houches, you should buy a Les Houches ski pass (with or without Prarion). There is a snowpark.

Les Houches used to be on the Mont Blanc Pass, but not this winter!
