The MBU covers only the Prarion lift at Les Houches AFAIK. Sorry, no idea of the upgrade cost on the day for the rest of the resort. Local politics have a lot to answer for

oscarbigfeet welcome to J2ski :D If you want to drive from Turin to Val Thorens, you will pass through, or close to lots of ski resorts. For example Bardonnechia isn't in the Milky Way, but it's fairly close and benefited from development during the Olympics.
Also there are plenty of resorts on the Maurienne side as you head for France. Real places, not concrete jungles with a few planks on the fascias. You can even access Val Thorens from the Maurienne with the Orelle link. http://pistehors.com/backcountry/wiki/Ski-Areas/Maurienne Bonneval takes you from the village at 1800 up to around 3000m in the Vanoise National Park and in winter can only be accessed from the "Italian" side of the Col d'Iseran. http://www.bonneval-sur-arc.com/english/index.html |

Lowa have been a major player in the ski touring boot category for a while. Here's a couple of examples of their boots.
http://pistehors.com/backcountry/wiki/Gear/Lowa-Struktura http://www.ems.com/1/1/2831-lowa-struktura-light-alpine-touring-boots.html I was fitted for a pair a couple of winters ago, but they were so big in the foot in terms of volume, that I could take them off without undoing them  No sale ) |
DazUltra, Bartlett's have a website.
http://www.skibartlett.com/index.asp AFAICS prices look pretty much regular retail. I do know someone who has been a customer in the past. This time round for boots, they went to Lockwoods in Leamington Spa. |
They really don't stand much chance here, once the J2ski hounds get the scent 8) |
Just that really

One of the comments made by the avocate for the English fella, was that speed was not a factor.
Also it's 4 years since the accident and the only witness is a friend of the Swiss guy. There is a question outstanding about the Englishman avoiding a snowboarder. Apparently the Judge visited the slope to see the lay of the land. Pistes vary a bit in their shape each year from my experience, a bit of window dressing by the Swiss Court? Agree that the eejits need to be dealt with though. |
