Hi Paul, no problem, you will be in our Directory later this evening.
Thanks for the interest in j2ski. |
Didn't realise it had a special name... but isn't skiing downhill fast and then crossing a road (!) known as "Oh ****!" ? x)

Hi skifan, welcome aboard and many thanks for the info regarding Abetone... we will get it posted shortly. Please be patient though as we will be rolling out some quite significant changes over the next month or so.
We will also be in touch soon about a new site we expect you might be interested in... 8) |

Ok, big questions... as for the skis, I would recommend hiring a few different models and seeing what suits your style best. The 1080 is a great ski but may be more suited to freestyle than freeride... the Scream is probably more of an all-mountain / go anywhere ski, for example. You might also want to try Rossi Bandits and Seth Pistols for contrast.
As for places... well Verbier is a fantastic place for freeriding but then so are many others; Les Arcs has fabulous off-piste as does Chamonix, although the latter might be best left until you are really on top of things. A lot depends on where you are with your skiing technique generally; how would you rate your experience off-piste so far? |
Maybe we can do away with the terms Skiing and Boarding pretty soon? ;) I find myself just talking in terms of going "riding" nowadays - and I haven't put foot on a board for nearly ten years I think! Some of our best days out are with mixed groups of boarders and skiers.
I think there's more of a tension between hooligans (on skis or boards) who ride recklessly / selfishly / stupidly and the rest of us nowadays. I have no issue with boarders in general - I enjoy riding with them and watching them in the park. There's no reason for separate cultures - the mountain's big enough for all of us. Why go tribal and try to pretend we're different when we're all out on the same snow under the same sun? Whatever you wanna ride - let's just enjoy the mountains! |
Tracks Vacations in La Rosiere have some remaining availability from the 10th April. Give them a call now - mention j2ski and they may even be willing to haggle a little...
