Five more smart things to do...
6. Never ski alone when off-piste or out of bounds. 7. Carry a spare pair of gloves. 8. Stick a small bottle of water in your rucksack. 9. Always know the local avalanche risk. 10. Never blindly follow tracks off-piste (unless you're happy hucking 100ft cliffs). Be safe, have more fun... 8) |

We now have a small number of chalets, which can be booked online, listed from our Italian Ski Chalets page.
We hope to be adding more, with a live availability search, over the next few weeks... hope that's useful. 8) |
Hi Sandy, you are welcome to include a link to your site in your signature (to make it clear that you are associated with it) provided that your site links to j2ski (and is ski-related, obviously). Please keep your signature clean (2 lines max please folks) to avoid the forum looking too spammy. 8) Thanks very much, |
Unfortunately not in this case... but if anyone comes across a good source of historical snow-depth data then please let us know... We have detailed records from early February 2006 onwards but don't currently have anything earlier than that. Today we added 7-day snow forecasts for a bunch more resorts - so if you previously looked in vain for your favourite resort, try again now! We cover over 400 ski resorts now - more to come... |
Later this week we'll be adding a number of chalets that can be booked online - and some at least are available for weekend booking I think. Watch this space.
Otherwise, you'd do best to focus on the end of February and March for dates to avoid the half-term crowds. |
Our 7-day Snow Forecasts cover around 200 ski resorts so far and we're going to add a few more as we approach the season. If there are any that you'd like to see added to the list, please reply here.
We've had requests to add Chamrousse and Feldberg, which we hope to have included within the next week. Any more requests? |
Thanks! There's more to come (features as well as snow, hopefully)... |
We kick off the seasons snow forecasts with the welcome news that temperatures look set to fall across most of the European Alps over the next week, with some areas seeing snowfall down to 2000 metres. It is, of course, way too early to tell if we're going to get as much snow as last year but at least the Alps will be looking good and snowy by the end of the week!
Our first Personalized Weekly Snow Reports have just gone out - if you're not signed up yet then just login and set your favourite Ski Resort in your Profile and we do the rest. Fingers crossed that the coming week will see the first of very many significant snowfalls to make this season rival the last! Bring it on! 8) |
