My crystal snowball tells me there will be Snow in Pas de la Casa next week. But we all need to start pretending not to notice the snow forecasts - that's why they keep changing... |
Now you've gone and jinxed it! Summer will return on Tuesday, torrential rain and tropical temperatures above 3,000 metres... bring umbrellas... sun cream (SPF 60+), etc... ...no guarantee it's going to stay cold in this bizarre winter but next week certain looks better and better... 8) Keep everything crossed! |
Or even this...

Hi James,
We have a Snow Forecast for Serre Chevalier. Looking like colder temperatures after next weekend so you might get lucky - maybe hold your nerve for now and see how the forecast develops. If things don't improve, look at Les Deux Alpes - it's not too far from Serre Che and is an "upside down" resort; with the beginner's areas at the top (3,000m on the glacier). HTH |
Hi Stink, you can get a discount of at least 20% on ski and boot hire by booking through our partner SkiSet and using the discount code j2ski - just go to this address:- www.j2ski.skiset.com Select France and then "Manigod" as the resort - that will allow you to select Val Sports in Manigod / l'Etale. If you select "La Clusaz", you can choose between two shops in the centre of town but - from your description - it sounds like you'll be within walking distance of the Manigod / l'Etale shop. |
Our Snow Forecasts are updating now... it's not looking too clever for next week...

Hi Claud, one of our data feeds (including the Andorra forecasts, and many of our other Euro locations) is currently stalled. Our provider is looking into it at the moment - hope to update later today. Sorry :(

Iceman - for once a year you are best off renting; you can hire the best gear each year and don't have the hastle of extra baggage (and costs) if flying.
With good discounts for pre-booked hire (see above!), and hire shops that offer much better levels of service than a few years ago, owning skis only becomes economically sensible if you are able to ski several weeks a year and service them yourself. Another big plus for renting is that almost all hire shops, depending on the package, will let you swap skis during the week - so if conditions change or you want to just try a different ski, then you can. Good hire shops will also happily service your skis overnight should they need it during the week. But Pavelski is right... search your feelings, you know it to be true... to ski is your destiny... and one week is not enough... 8) |
