Good news. It looks like the Menuires 7 have won their campaign. They received half their pay now, half at the end of the month (with fines to the company if not paid). They get to stay in the chalet for the weekend. Better yet the company must start complying with local employment laws, which will give future staff greater protection.

Kudos to the local Mayor and police for doing the right thing. I'm sure a lot of people will have a favourable impression of Les Menuires because of their fair treatment of the workers.

It will be interesting to see if that company is still around next season

As for the bloke at the top, he recruited them, so he needs to pay them for the hours they've done. Then he needs to give them notice, or money in lieu, in line with the law where their contracts were signed.

My guess, having had some experience with this type of businessman is that he couldn't make payroll, so was looking for an excuse.
Just a boring gopro on a pole video

I like the black and white effect. How long was the pole the go-pro was on?

Looks like you started to lean your upper body into the turn before you fell (compared to the horizon, not video frame).

Well, if he indeed had the reasons he's stated and had something to back up his accusations with he wouldn't sack them via email. And how about paying them wages? Though, given his bankruptcy history he's probably used to not paying his staff for the work they've done and making a living out of it.

Exactly, if this were an isolated incident, there would be room for doubt.

I don't doubt that there might have been problems, but it is typical of this type of business person to not provide proper supervision of young employees. To have several chalets in the town and not to have a supervisor responsible for the operation, shows the lack of management and cost cutting. The fact that the more experienced couple who were not fired risked their positions to help speaks volumes.

fragrant disrespect for our company, myself and wife

What do you expect when your employees smell a rat?
Social media justice at work. Hopefully Skithe3V won't last the season out (sorry to the people working for them). What annoys me about people like Ridgers is that he will delude himself into thinking that it's not his fault, and go start up another doomed enterprise ripping people off.

They'd have a point on the end and could extend rather quickly. Could be useful when dealing with Frenchmen in lift queues or for making a point to boarders sitting in a line across a piste...

Owen.

I'm sure that's what Steed of the Avengers took when he went skiing.

(and that reminds me, why don't women wear black leather suits these days?)

That's great. It's amazing how much more balanced you feel doing that exercise when you are forward in your boot.

On second thoughts, it's already risky enough skiing under chair lifts without additional debris falling down :D
