Hate skiing!!

Blimey Ally, I bet you are a laugh a minute 8)
Well of course there are LOADS of things I LOVE about ski-ing, but this thread is about our dislikes, is it not, and I don't want to wibble off piste and get snipped by Admin
But I have thought of a few more worries ... :
19. I worry that they will shut the lifts and I won't be able to ski back to the resort if I'm somewhere like La Rosiere and I ski over the top of the mountain to the connected La Thuile as it's extremely difficult to get back by road. It's not so bad in the Three Valleys as it just means paying for a bus or taxi and a long drive.
20. I hate seeing the 'blood waggons' going past when I'm ski-ing, as I always wonder what's happened to the poor victim and imagine it's me
21. I hate it when the smilies don't work on this website

Apologies, slightly off topic, but it is a hate.
I drove back to the UK from Kitzbuhel this weekend, and the traffic to and round Munich was appaling. It took us 3 hours to do about 50 miles! We left Kitz about 9.30am. Is this just the usual traffic situation for the area, and the solution is to leave earlier? Is there an alternate route which would be quicker?
Thanks.

AllyG you made me laugh with your long list of worries. I thought I was bad but you are on another level. My biggest fear is some out of control skiier or boarder crashing in to me. Unfortunately this fear became a reality last week as I was on a private lesson and a boarder who was totally out of control came tearing straight down the slope and completely took out my ski instructor who landed in a heap. The instructor gave him a lecture about the fact that he could have seriously hurt someone but fortunately he had turned round to check I was skiing correctly and saw the boarder coming towards him so was prepared for the crash. Did not do my nerves any good though :(

18. I really hate the fact that I've had 6 weeks of lessons now and I am STILL stuck on some of the basics - like failing to keep my upper body facing downhill and ski-ing with my skis too far apart. It REALLY ANNOYS me when I see other skiers effortlessly skimming past me with perfect style and technique!
And I think I have pretty much ALL the worries and pet hates that everyone else has already expressed.

Next Saturday I will dislike the traffic on the A8 south of Munich as all of Germany and Holland head off for the Fasching ski holiday.
I will also dislike that I am not organised enough to get the family on the road early enough to get through before the traffic build up. Thus missing an afternoon on the slopes.

Yep. Down the A12 past Innsbruck, under the Arlberg Tunnel and past Lichenstein, on to Zurich and Basel and a choice of routes west or north from there.Far Queue wrote: Is there an alternate route which would be quicker?
