OK, I filled that in as best I could. As ever with tick-the-box answers, you don't always have boxes that match reality. For me there was no box between '0ften' and 'Never'. I wear mine infrequently, when I think the day's skiing may put my head at risk from cuts an abrasions - say skiing down steep, narrow rocky routes. So 'Often' was not really a good answer.

And no, I don't want to get into a helmet debate - just saying that the question sheet did not have an answer that matched what I do.

Oh, and welcome to J2ski. My guess is that you are North American, judging by the helmet prices, and this forum is British oriented - but I hope you feel welcome around here.

I agree a few more options like " I don't wear a helmet " but I filled it in 8)

How about the "I'll never wear a helmet unless it becomes the law" option?

I thought the same 2 years ago. Had a fall, banged my head no major damage done. Last year, having had previous small accident bought a lid. Went and had a bad fall, landed head first and bust 3 ribs. If I hadn't had the lid it would have been broken head / neck aswell.

I was tiring very significantly this afternoon in Zermatt, the days activity had churned up big lumps of ice by 1pm, my back legs ability to provide decent suspension was shot, in fact I was riding so hard it was shaking uncontrollably after a run. Was tired but pushed myself to go again when I shouldn't. Was a wee bit touch and go, nearly lost my front edge at what I guess was close to 50kph. It is for this reason I will never wear a helmet.

Getjim Ugh, nasty  I have had my insurers asking for declaration if I was wearing a helmet when claiming for ski injury. I imagine it won't be long until they start wriggling on payouts.
