Thanks Rose :D

I wish I had some video of a Poma ride from hell. The spring was too strong, and I shot up in the air and bounced 2x on the ground, at the start, before heading up the track. At the 1st bend I went round the dog leg in mid air, and I'm convinced that there was no weight on my skis for most of the journey.

Little kids have all my empathy on using drag lifts, I've never experienced anything quite like that before.

Thanks Ally and Mike

Ally, I think my helmet is an important piece of kit, I do tend to look after mine :D

Mike, no, it's not me on the Woopy Jump, I was too busy skiing :D TBH, it all looked a bit tame!

Did watch these fellas taking off though......

It all looked very relaxed, I thought of Mrs Ellistine )

The lights' not looking good in these images.....I did drop and dent my camera :(

Beautiful pics, panorama's are glorious. Those tow lifts are weird, especially the one on top of the Balmengrat in Lech, just above Zug; its right on the edge of a totally precipitious face, wonder how many have fallen over...didnt like the feeling one bit..

this place Zinal is the French Alps right, how would you compare it to say Lech-Zurs in Austria, or Sunshine village in Alberta or say the Canyons or Alta in Utah or Vail, colorado..

the views are picture-postcard perfect..
Skiing is good for the soul!

dustyfog Zinal is in the Canton on Valais in Switzerland, 2 1/2 hours drive from Geneva. It's a tiny resort with a few lifts, and linked in one direction to the resort of Grimentz via a black run. The total uplift in the whole valley is 220km, of that only 130km is linked. It's really tiny compared to big name resorts. The upside, is that the off piste is endless and the villages are rustic and genuine alpine settlements with a year round life outside of skiing. Lots of these wandering around loose....

Typically, each one weighs around 500kg

I go and do some of this :D

More photos here...

It's a world away from big resorts.

Yes, agreed, tows/poma's/drag lifts/buttons/T-bar's are all rather an acquired taste
