Absolutely. But as has been discussed before, sunnies are only any good in the sun. Any low vis or flat light and goggles are required.

Being a spectacle wearer i bought some OTG goggles but never wore them, but they were a bargain in the millets sale.
I wore contacts and wore sunglasses everyday. I used my standard goggles for an hour or so in really bad wind but took them off when i got to a lower altitude.

As for clothes.....

Well i bought three micro fleeces for a mid layer and never wore any of them. I wore a base layer and my ski jacket and i was sweating like hell. Skiing isn't as gentle exercise as it looks.
Two pairs of socks lasted me all week (skiing only) i did put nice ones on for meals out!
Skied: Arinsal, La Plagne, Alpe D'huez, Flaine, Les Arcs, Morzine, Les Gets, Avoriaz, Sauze, Courchevel, Val Thorens

To be honest I wouldn't take my chances on Borovets at Christmas after this year and last years snow history. Could you not change it, the TO might let you, seeing as it's so far away. They might charge you about £25 admin fees.

Extremely good idea. Get on the phone now, tell them you are worried about a lack of snow and general conditions in Borovets, and see what they can offer you as an alternative. Austria, Switzerland, Italy or France is what you really want.

But if Borovets was chosen because of being on a budget then Andorra would be the best alternative. It is cheap and has a better snow history, and it's much, much better than Borovets in every other respect including ski schools.
