Mostly, you'll feel like crap. While you get less fit and your metabolism slows down as you convince your body it's gonna starve.
Great plan... if you're a catwalk model looking to collect health problems as you hit middle age.
Mostly the good stuff; as your body wastes muscle it thinks it doesn't need (because you're not exercising) and starts to store the fat it does think it needs to survive you starving it!
Have you warned the Greek Islands to expect the new Adonis?
By a fashion guru or a complete idiot? This is J2Ski, not J2StringyBeachPoser... :P
Seriously Tony, do some research - exercise will help you look fitter with your shirt off, not just skinny. You don't need to feel crap while trying to stomach that meal replacement garbage... You can feel better, look better... and you'll ski better too.
This. Absolutely this.
I'm just about adequately fit now but a year ago I was getting positively lardy. Regular cardio (cycle/x-trainer/walking to the pub), simple body weight exercises and a little free weights work has shifted 8kg of fat and added a kilo of muscle. I'm fitter, stronger and bandit reckoned I'd got taller by October! 8)
I eat more sensibly but more calories (less junk) than I did before.
Snapzz - step away from the daft diets and do it right. Exercise for 4-6 weeks and you'll make some quick gains, will feel great and be getting fitter. The waistline will look after itself just fine.
Exercise makes you feel good, dieting makes you feel crap. That should tell you all you need to know. Get a bike, get a kite, go play in the park with your kids...
Be sensible with the wine but absolutely no reason to cut it out completely.
...and now I'll get back to watching from the sidelines and being enigmatic... 8)
I look good without a top on. I reckon I'd look way better than you, no matter how much you diet :P
LOL
And I suspect Admin was wearing heels to confuse us simple folk -)
Snapzzz, muscle burns more calories, therefore a lean bod with plenty of muscle tone can eat more. Do what Admin suggests, it is the sensible route.

All this fitness nonsense. Pah.
If its your waistline your worried about, Snapzzz, you need to change your lifestyle. Simple as that.
Cut out beer altogether. Restrict wine to weekends and dont drink too much.
Drink lots of water every day, I'm talking 5 litres.
Porridge for breakfast. Fruit for lunch. Low calorie meal (chicken or fish with jacket potato and salad) in the evening.
No snacks, chocolate, crisps.
Do that for about 4-6 weeks and see what happens. I lost 1.5 stone and more importantly, inches off my waist and chest. I got annoyed with t shirts feeling too tight which is what started me off. It was nothing to do with fitness as I dont feel the need to be fit. I do need ot strengthen legs a bit for skiing, but at this time of the year I'm only concerned with how I'll look without a top on, and as of last summer I didnt like it any more.
I've had to buy some new clothes, "slim fit" shirts no less, and I'm back into some smart old gear I used to have in my early 30's.
No exercise involved at all. In fact I was advised against exercise because if its weight loss you want, diet. Once you've reached the desired weight/size, then do something to keep a level of fitness. Unless youre a highly tuned athlete of course.

But if you can't or don't want to cut out the wine then a few hours of exercise each week will help combat that??

Agree with bandit and admin. I haven't lost any weight in recent times, just moved it around a bit. Muscles have got bigger, squidgy bits have got smaller.
I've never worked it out but I reckon I must consume at least 4,000 calories a day when on a skiing holiday. ie, usual food plus peanuts/energy bars throughout the day and 2 or 3 beers/glasses of wine every evening. Came back last time and I'd lost a couple of pounds in weight!

Can we have before and after photos for this fitness head to head. Tony H diet vs Snapzzz following the admin/bandit plan.
