Thanks Bandit, minus 18 is pretty cold for ski-ing, but at least you had powder and sun, and plenty of snow :D
I don't like anything less than about minus 4 here at home, because the outside water tanks freeze up for the cattle, and the car windscreen freezes up on the inside, and the minor roads like ours are all icy and dangerous because they only grit the main roads.

Minus 4 at midday here in South Lincs.
Why do windscreens freeze up over here with the spray coming up from gritted roads?

Lovely sunny, dry and 8c over here. Its not fair I want snow. I was trying to think if in my lifetime I have ever had a white Christmas, the only one I can think of was 1963 when we could not go back to school until end of January. I am sure thats my only one.

3 degrees and rain. Going to be -2 tonight with a 70% chance of precipitation. I predict an ice rink.

Just quit for the day, took me several attempts to get my boots off, as the plastic was a bit stiff. Reported to be -20c at mid station and -29c with wind chill included. Restaurant loos full of grizzling sprogs and flapping parents who failed to read the weather forecast and wrap their kids up warm.

Just had a -30 c ski day! It was great since no skiers and very very fast conditions!
The secret to skiing such conditions are;
-dress in layers with quality core body products
-seal all entry zones (hint buy tennis sweat cuffs for wrists) This zone is a serious problem area since mating between gloves and jacket often is poor.
-get a windproof neck protector. North Face makes the very best with a elastic for face.
Place two heat packets just above boot cuff , but inside the ski pants! Is better that heated boots since it warms muscles and blood going to feet.
Place heat packs near those tennis cuffs. Heats hand muscles and blood going to hands!
oh,,,never drink alcoholic type drinks,,it will NOT warm up up!!!
Use quality face cream on nose.
Now ski and enjoy!
Pick lifts that are fast and short
Inactivity is your enemy,,,not skiing.

:D :DMMMMmmmmm cold:)
Any cold is good, as long as you have the right kit on ,which most of us snow lovers will have .....got stuck on the Toviere chair lift between Val & Tignes once at about 4pm one January and it was roughly -26 BBBrrrr, everything was warm apart from my cheeks and nose...... but it just meant more vin chaud was needed to defrost me

I would have got away with it if it wasn't for those pesky kids!
