Ha, I remember that feeling when we did blue 4 in St Anton, the run through the valley that never gets any sun on it, and do it first thing in the morning on freshly groomed snow was fantastic, but we christened it the Dentists Run because your whole face was frozen by the time you stopped at the bottom. A very odd sensation, and I also recall not being able to keep my coffee in my mouth!!

Last year I skiied in -35C in Canada excluding wind chill.

Whats worse this year is that within 15 days I will have gone from +33c in South Africa to -20C (there or thereabouts!). Its currently killing me being back in England after 3 months in the heat and sunshine so god knows how I will cope in Canada on the 29th!! However I know that by the time I fly back at the end of Jan I will be fully acclimatised and it will feel suitably roasting over here!

Just a pity I will be returning to work

They actually closed the schools statewide when it was -40 (windchill was -70). Our summers can be so humid, it's like stepping outside, into a hot wet sponge sometimes.

Trencher,
I don't know how you manage, at -40 degrees C. I mean, I would have thought there would be loads of minor problems, like car door handles and petrol caps freezing up, the oil in various engines becoming so thick it seized up etc. etc. And in order to walk outside I'd have thought you'd have to be dressed up like an eskimo!

It was warmer today at -15c. Yesterday was -18c. Nothing froze, warm feet, still not using silky glove liners.
Tomorrow it's due to be colder again. Makes for nice powdery snow :D

Bandit,
Have you been ski-ing today? I'm afraid I can't remember what everyone's doing - I have a memory like a sink now - straight in and out :D
