I think I fly about a dozen times with them last year and I can't see the point getting involved in the scrum, it's not like there's not going to be a seat for you :lol: When it comes down to it, the "allocated seat" on other airlines is no better or worse than just strolling onto the plane and sitting down, it's not like you get to allocate it yourself or screen who you're sitting next to, in the latter case you've a better chance picking your own seat after the scrum's calmed down.

I like to be at the airport early anyway so may as well check in and if there's 4 of you it is good to sit together (unless you don't want to, that is). Didn't find there was a 'scrum' just those who were trying to board with the first lot when they weren't meant to be :lol:

If you are travelling with hand baggage only, there are definite advantages to being seated in the first few rows if you want a quick getaway :D

I disagree. If you check in early enough with charter or scheduled flights, you get a choice of where you sit, if you are polite enough to the staff of course.
If you are travelling with friends or family, then you DO get to choose who you sit next to, to a degree.
Maybe you arent fussy about where you sit, Ise, but I am, and I know a lot of other people who are - which is proven by the so called scrum you mentioned.

Also, we had a 'just sit where you like' flight in Australia, held up so late to check in.. last to board.. seats that did not recline for 4 hours (at night :( .)

in this instance we didn't have a huge amount of choice. I'm very surprised at the lack of scheduled flights into innsbruck. we're very close to stansted and have to trek to gatwick in the middle of the night :roll:

I must say, I refuse to be caught up in all the kerfuffle. when I'm on holiday I chill 8), so no scrums for me. what happens, happens. :mrgreen:
