A lot of airports are owned by different companies, although it feels like it sometimes BAA don't own them all

Airlines themselves can put restrictions on what you can put in hand luggage.

I like to travel with my boots because I really don't want to risk loosing my them. I have a bunion on one foot and my boots have been blown out to accomodate it. I can't replace them easily and I don't want to miss a days skiing.

Back in the days when Moonboots were the height of apres ski fashion I owned a pair

Floppy foam things, very light and squashy!

I was heading to a place that had lots of snow and needed to wear them on arrival but Bristol Airport refused to allow me to take them in my hand luggage. So, I made the queue wait whilst I repacked my suitcase to accommodate their stupidity.

Perhaps being in that bit of Zumerset does something to kill the brain cells? Or are the staff especially selected to be PITA

eh???

I know everyone feels differently but here's my two penneth's worth.

we are two adults (with boot bags) and two kids, therefore, we're allowed four bags. we pack the boots in their bags padded out with socks, thermals, underwear, etc and they go in the hold with the other two bags.

I'm going to have to rethink next week as the boys aren't coming . maybe we could get away with just the boot bags as it's only for 3 nights, hmmmm :?:
