Security of boot bags

OK, so looks like a boot bag is out of the question then as that is included in your baggage limit, so maybe its time to buy skis and use a ski bag? That, of course, costs £30 or so to take each trip of course......
Yep. Although youy could say its 4 jackets as I'll be wearing one, but thats just a softshell to wear under an outer layer if its particularly cold.

I use a boot bag. It seems a lot don't like using it but I do! I use my combination zip wire lock that I secure my skis with on the slopes. I just thread the wire through all the zip pulls and that does the trick.

Then, pack all your ski clothing (sallos and jackets, 3 of each usually) around your skis in a ski bag,
So you're not packing lighter than me at all then, really. I don't have skis, and all my stuff comes in around the 18kg mark, ...............until these boots came along! I pack virtually exactly the same amount of clothing as you

I missed the bit about Tony H packing 3 each of salos and jackets. I only pack the one salos and wear the one jacket.
Bant a ni!

I applaud anyone that can pack ski boots in a suitcase and stay under 20kg. Mine go in a 40litre ruc sac as hand luggage. Check in never suspect it has the boots in. Can't imagine the need for 3 pairs of salos and jackets, but each to his own.

I've always packed my ski boots in my hold luggage and managed to be under 20kgs

Normally for me one Jacket and one pair of Sallo's more than enough for six days skiing
