I love the pics but don't think I could ski all the time with it stuck to a pole.... I have to agree though the results are amazing.
Also I can't see the video you posted  using an iPad.... Do you have the link?
Keep the pics coming....

As much as I am an Apple convert, the fact that Ipads and Iphones dont allow you to play videos is extremely annoying.
I believe it is an issue with flash.
Thanks, sounds interesting. Not sure I like the idea of a chest mount, but now that you mention the prices available I'll take a serious look.
The green jacket is North Face. Got it autumn 2010 half price in Ellis Brigham, as I wouldnt pay £270 for one.
I think the colour is amazing, the Salomon one you're on about is very nice.
I couldn't agree more, but it's not all video. The Vimeo clip has no problem playing. And I can usually watch YouTube with no problems.... I read that flash is being fazed out anyway and replaced with html5 that iOS works superbly on.... Here's to the future...
I don't ski with it all the time, that would be too much work. It is surprising how much you miss that pole.....or on the other hand i found it quite surprising how often i didn't miss it....that sounds a bit weird doesn't it??
Holding it up can make your arm ache and you do get some 'looks' but thats the price you pay to get those pics when you are out alone.
I used it for around 30mins each day.
heres a link
Im afraid the video isn't available on mobile because of the music i used on it.
If you shoot in 1080p then the field of view is much less. i think its about 120 degrees vs 170 at 720p
720p is good enough for most applications now.

They are definitely worth buying, you will get more use out of it than you think. I will be taking on my summer hols for use in the pool and prob be filming some wake boarding later in the year too.
Now is the time to buy as the new HD Hero2 is out and the one i have can be found at a great price now. The difference in quality between the 2 is not massive so in my opinion not really worth the extra cost.
There are tons of mounts available so you don't need a lid, you can get a chest mount and if you really want to there is a strap that fits on your head without the need for a helmet.
The pole mount stayed on my ski pole all week and i just dropped the cam on every now and again.
BTW, love the green jacket. Salomon have one out this year in the same colour which i am going to get once the prices fall. They want £300 for it at the mo but i expect them to be had for half that come march.

Father Christmas bought me the helmet hero. I'm going to give the head strap a go as it seems pretty sturdy. I'm also considering the chest strap.
Did you take any footage in 1080p, and does the reduced frame rate make any difference? I assume it will in slow motion, but wasn't sure about normal play back.
