How many hours skiing between Waxes

Also, having just purchased my own skis i was wondering about setting the bindings and such. I hear its bad practice to do your own and they really need to be set by a qualified ski tech?
Mine were set up buy 'edge and wax' who asked basic questions about my ski level, age, weigh, height and boot size so they could set them up for me.
I tried my boots on them and they drop in just fine.
Should i just go out and ski them or have them checked in resort?
Also can you bindings adjust or alter in anyway during transit?

I'm still learning all this stuff

Bindings don't come loose in transit, but you really do need to get them checked before use. If you are around an indoor slope, either EB's or SnR could do this for you. When it's done, watch and learn, it's a little more than a set of numbers.

Try and avoid having your edges ground at 1st service on new skis, it may change the edge angle. Ask Edge & Wax what your base and edge angles are, then buy some light servicing tools to keep your edges sharp between big services. Ask them for advice. Heavy servicing can seriously reduce the life of a pair of skis.

Having been away for the weekend, I've just picked up this thread. After reading the title I said to myself "this looks like a thread that could go 'off piste'.....and if it does the culprit will be Wickers". How right I was :mrgreen:
