January trip in jeopardy

Hopefully, I will be full recovered in time for the February mid-term trip. I might also have to have a look at a late season long weekend to compensate

That's great news Tony - marvellous Christmas present for both of you :)

Oh no - how awful! I hope you're insured and you can get all your money back, and that you heal rapidly!

I've really really tried to avoid commenting on this thread but it just boils down to how much you like the wife Tony!!!

I spoke too soon . I got a phone call from the hospital on Sunday asking me to come in for a further review. They had looked more closely at the X-rays and concluded that I have two fractured ribs and small puncture to my lung :!:. I don't know whether to be angry with the hospital for missing the damage first time round or impressed that they conduct a review of all X-rays to make sure everything is alright. In any event, my January ski trip is definitely off   .Wanderer wrote:I got knocked off my bike yesterday by an idiot who suddenly decided to turn left into a carpark without indicating and landed very heavily on my chest:evil:.
The ridiculous thing was one of my first thoughts was "this could ruin my ski trip in January" Just goes to show how obsessed we are
Thankfully, a trip to the ER confirmed that nothing was broken and no sign of any other significant problems. So apart from rather painful internal bruising, I should be fine after a few days .

That's bad news for you wanderer, I've had a collapsed lung before and it can be serious and very painful, life threatening in fact. Hopefully yours will re inflate on its own otherwise you're in for a really tough time. Fingers crossed for you.
Meanwhile, the sun has shone on mrs h and her toe has healed sufficiently for the hospital to this morning confirm she will be ok to return to work and to ski in January.
I now have just over 2 weeks to get her fit!!!
