I thought dial up used to be 56kbps? Or was it even slower when it first started?
I'm getting very confused with all these kiloBytes and megaBytes.
Is 0.49 Mbps the same as 490 Kbps? If it is then that means that my internet (slow as it is) is currently something like 10X faster than it used to be when it was dial up.
56kbps modems cam in about 1995/6/7 and replaced earlier 14kbps modems.
Correct on speeds; your broadband is nearly 10x faster than dial up was.
