I can go to bed now.
Thought I was going into town to collect number one son at 12.30.

He is on the way home from his first independent foreign expedition - a festival in Belgium - Yo, the high life!!
He managed local buses, Belgium trains, French stuff, the tunnel etc.

And missed his bus in London Victoria.

He was convinced it was 9.30 - I said the website said 9.00 ....
He got there as it was leaving.
Ho Hum.
A learning moment I think.

Anyway - he is alive, not in hospital, not been arrested and will be home in the morning.

I'm glad he's OK - it can be very worrying when one finally lets one's kids out of the playpen

You are not wrong there Ally.

I had to hold myself back when my eldest announced he was going to cycle to Italy last year, on a bike he bought for £notverymuch on e-bay.

He survived (caught the train most of the way) even though he and his mate did take to sleeping on roundabouts. Apparently it was the only camp site they could find at short notice in the city!

The ignorance/enthusiasm of youth
I can see my house from here...
