I'm not paying any attention to you two - Ian and Tony,
You are only jealous because the Welsh flag is much prettier than the English flag, which is just another 'red cross' (I think). How many red (or white) crosses are there, for goodness' sake
And Snowb4ndit managed to get her Welsh flag to ripple very nicely :D.

I love it. A welsh person suggesting an english person is jealous.
One thing to say: 1958.

Tony,
I'm talking about which flag is prettier - not about whatever it was that happened in 1958 (presumably something to do with football or rugby).
Snowb4ndit,
The red dragon has been a Welsh symbol of independance since the Dark Ages of Arthurian legend (somewhere around the 6th Century), as described in the Mabinogion mythical tales. Henry V11 (father of Henry V111)carried the Welsh flag at the Battle of Bosworth in 1485, because he was partly Welsh, and the green and white represents the Tudors.
Ian,
I'm 1/4 Northern Irish, 1/4 true Irish, 1/4 Scottish and 1/4 English. I am not at all Welsh. But my husband is Welsh and therefore my kids are half Welsh, plus half of all my odd fractions, and hence truly mongrel British.

Tony,
If it's so pretty, why don't you put that flag up then?
But you'd better be quick before Admin wipes it off because I dare say he'd say it was 'off piste', although come to think of it, this whole thread is off piste.
