Hi,

Why not have a look at La Plagne for your family?

There is a great selection of blue and red runs and most of the resorts are family friendly. Oxygene in Plagne Centre and Evolution 2 in Les Coches are both great for kids lessons.

Happy planning!

Have you looked at Les Gets - it's a lovely village for families? We've used BASS (British Alpine Ski School) on quite a few occasions & been very happy with them.
The plan is.... there's no plan!

It's got to be done, I'm sorry..

My experience of the Red Ski School in Niederau is that it is nothing short of amazing. All the instructors are very good, all speak great English and they all have the patience of a saint. My first time skiing kids were skiing red runs by the end of the week and my wife, who struggled with classes, was given FREE one on one lessons.

As a resort, it might struggle with snow at that time of the year but Dave Mac (the resident Old Guy) will be able to advise you of historical snow depths during January.

As a family orientated resort, it's really good. If you want to cover miles and miles of challenging piste, it's not great.

I have to agree with Coop, we took our 3 girls, ages 8, 5 and a non-skiing 3 at the time (in February 2009) and the two oldest loved the skiing lessons there and got on well, not to mention a 'starter' wife who shocked me by turning from a non-sporty type person into a total ski lover, and that for someone I thought wasn't the most adept at this kind of activity!

Big bonus being that we now have an active ski family.

Niederau's not a huge resort by any stretch of the imagination either slopeside or in town, but for a family IMO to have somewhere compact where everywhere is easily walkable is a bonus.

Am sure Dave Mac will be around soon once he's finished doting on Herr Klammer )
I decided to have a life change and be more spontaneous. Starting tomorrow.
