Hugh, I just read your original post about being a snowboarder befor. I would definitely go for a small radius ski. Your board probably had a 8/9M sidecut so I think your experience on the board will relate more easily to skis with a 11/12M sidecut.

These are my favourite ski and I think you would not go wrong with them.

Hi Hugh,
If you are looking to improve your ski-ing, dont be tempted to buy Blizzard's just because they are cheap. Its worth paying the extra few quid to get a pair that will not only suit your present standard, but will be advanced enough to take you forward as you improve.
Personally I cant see past Fischers, but any top make will have something for you.

They are slightly narrower in the waist, but are an all mountain ski, and are of a superior standard, and the retailer is selling them at over £300 off the rrp.
