Don't think I will push the boundaries.need to concentrate on keeping luggage below the limit.

I find getting in under 20kg challenging

You need to cut back on your beauty products then mate, perhaps leave the straighteners home next time?

My case never exceeds 15kg, my boots get packed with my skis.

Yep, 20kg including boots is plenty for a week. The key is use your ski bag for your ski clothing.

I don't really understand this question. Do you mean you want to have a normal checked in suitcase that goes in the hold, a normal piece of carry on hand luggage, AND a boot bag which you're going to pay £35 for as a checked in extra snow sports bag to go in the hold?

I would have thought you'd manage OK without paying the extra £35 for the extra bag. Some airlines let you put your ski boots in your hand luggage, but even if they don't you can put your ski boots in your suitcase and quite a lot of stuff in your hand luggage. Clothes hardly weigh anything, and the hand luggage allowances are usually quite generous.
This is the size of the hand luggage allowed by EasyJet:
You can take one piece of hand baggage into the cabin with you -no bigger than 56 x 45 x 25cm incl wheels- which must fit comfortably into the baggage gauge. Hand bags, briefcases, laptops and laptop bags are all counted as one piece so if you have a hand bag and a laptop bag for example, you might want to consider putting one inside the other.

I think it was simple enough to understand Ally.
The poster is asking if he/she can take a boot bag as well as a suitcase stuffed with clothes, but is getting confused about paying extra for sports equipment.

Bottom line is we need to know which airline they are flying with.

Easy jet charge £27 each way for a ski bag. IF this is your only bag (other than hand luggage) this can be up to a whopping 32kg.
For me i would take the risk an ram as much as poss in the ski bag, in fact i do.

Ah but be careful as Easyjet state one pair of skis and poles only in a ski bag, and I have seen bags being searched and emptied at check ins.
