Hi all,

Im off to les menuires on sunday 10/1/10 and im looking at ski insurance deals. Can anyone recommend a good insurance company that have a good delay, cancellation policy. Due to the current weather conditions im concerned that there might be delays from the uk with the airports..

Most travel insurers I've looked at recently, offer no weather cancellation protection, or scheduled airline failure protection.

Ive found 1 this morning that will offer cancellation if your delay exceeds more than 12 hours. i think this may be as good as it gets...

The small print is everything, proceed with caution!

Hi,

In the past i have used Columbus for ski insurance and found them excellent, although i am now with Direct Line for my yearly travel insurance and have not used Columbus for several years.

Again when choosing insurance the small print is the important stuff not whats written in bold lettering on the policy, when conatcting an insurer just ask them plenty of questions about the policy (record the conversation if possible....you must ask for their consent to do so though first) then they cant wriggle out of anything in the event of a discrepency.

All the best

I have nothing but praise for Columbus insurance. a few years ago I had an unfortunate accident while on holiday (not skiing). They paid out promptly (£10k!) and were most helpful during the very distressing time.

I have just booked my insurance with them for this year - covered 2 existing medical conditions for silver policy £46 where Tesco quoted £100!!!

Do it!!!

Hi,

Yes i think it was the Silver one i had aswell, the only reason i went with Direct Line was that as i had a couple of others with them they gave me a better deal on my car insurance, if i had not changed i would still be with Columbus.....great company
