Thanks for the weather map Swingbeep :D

It definitely looks like it's going to snow next week in the French Alps :D

J2Ski says, for Courchevel, 2cm snow on Monday (14th), Tuesday and Wednesday and freezing down to 1300.

Ski Club of GB says pretty much the same thing, except they also give light rain (!) for Thursday with a freezing level of 1850 - so presumably this means snow above this - and windy (25) from the west.

Ally i sure hope that your right. Afterall i know first had that it needs it badly. It was the first time last week that i have ever seen instructors wearing helmets whilst teaching, thats how icy it was. When we skied the glacier at Thorens the col run was sheet ice from top to bottom. I know now why the lift was dead....

No, Tone, he's seen instructors wearing helmets; you said you'd never seen one!!!!

Snow desperately needed. Happy to say have not booked my March trip and holding off doing so until it snows somewhere....anywhere!!

I don't find J2J reports very reliable. For days when it was showing "verbier reports powder snow" verbier couldn't report powder snow and it was saying clearly on their website, no new snow and none so far is expected, though some clouds are coming. I find it quite curious that whenever you open a snow-forecast, if it shows snow, it will be showing it for the last two days shown. So on Monday it would be Friday and Saturday, on Tuesday it would be Saturday and Sunday, the next day you check they will move it to Sunday-Monday etc. Which can be interpreted that no snow is really expected, but it's OK to give people some hope - it's always 5 days ahead, no matter when you look:)

I use snow-forecast.com and around December/Christmas/New Year was spot on for Courchevel. If anyhting it underestimated the amount of snow that actually fell.
I am looking forward to seeing if it has this dusting of snow expected this next week in France correct.

It was so much snow everywhere around here at that time that it was difficult to get it wrong. Anyone could have made the same forecast for Christmas:) Fingers crossed some snow falls next week because the sky looks annoyingly clear so far.
