I have just printed off my CV and am going to pop it in to a couple of ski shops around town.
You see what with a mortgage and a crap job I can't afford a new pair of skis (the old Rossi 9S just won't take another season). So I thought to myself - what better way to earn some cash (apart from selling my kidney) than to get a weekend job in a ski shop?
But the thing is that I don't think that my girlfirend will be too impressed with the lack of time I'll be able to give her.
I need a valid excuse that will keep her happy.
I'm thinking of buying her something shiny before I buy my skis.
Your suggestions and ideas would be greatly appreciated.

assuming you will get a staff discount for your new skis, I'd promise her half your salary to go shopping while you're working.

"Listen woman, i do what the hell i like and i've been skiing a lot longer than i've known you so don't you dare try and stand in the way!"
Only joking, i'm sure she'll appreciate the time apart when she sees that "something shiney"? Extra effort always goes down well. In the mean time just explain to her extra money would help you both out a bit.
Rock on!!

Quote to girlfriend " I was caught skiing on an old pair of skis by the snow police, and have to serve community service working in a ski shop, or spend a season working as a chalet maid in Chamonix"
Suddenly the ski shop becomes a better option for your other half and all will be rosy!!
Oh and shiny, always comes with a clause...how big, and how expensive, so stay away from the light!!!

A bad day on the slopes is better than a good day in the office !
