Just proving the point that you need not visit a resort to know that it is expensive 8)

Like everywhere I am sure it has cheaper places and expensive places to do everything. I am yet to visit anywhere in the world like this. It isn't even like Megeve is a ski town like a lot in France without any other options near by (ie, a captive market). Obviously I have not been to Megeve so can't really qualify it but ise has come out and said it and I value his opinion over some random on a review site.

In the past 3 years I have skied on 3 different continents at close to 20 different resorts and am yet to experience somewhere I can just brand 'expensive' or 'cheap'. You need to see a little more of the world and make your own minds up on things instead of believing everything you read on the internet

It's still expensive

As Wickers said earlier, it is all relative. However, if I always avoided places with a reputation for being expensive then I would have missed out on some of the best trips of my life. Make it what you can afford to make it but don't miss out.

Sorry johnski but I agree with ise here, I've never failed to find a restaurant in London that doesn't suit needs. I don't know many places with a wider choice to suit every pocket or palate.

Also, I've gotta give credit where it's due, this is my favourite post ever

Megeve has more than its fair share of fine restaurants, eight of which have Michelin stars.

Cheers.

Flippin' 'eck, obviously ruffled a few feathers there!!

I was giving an opinion, based on my experience visiting Megeve in March 2003 - so granted its out of date, exchange rates have changed and I didn't eat everywhere! I found it expensive!

[On the London thing, yes it has a fantastically varied restaurant scene, no question - But that subject is not one for a ski board!]

And I agree, Pablo's "7 nights only" post is a classic!
