Jumping on your horse bareback - good job the British sense of humour in me refrains me from slipping in a questioning titter as to which of you were bareback

  Haven't tried that one in a while (interpret as you will...!)

LM: Hope the MRI scan goes well and you get your knee sorted soon - it can't be much fun skiing and riding in pain all the time.

In case anyone is interested, the reason why you can't take certain metallic/electronic objects into/near a MRI machine is that the machine itself is essentially a very large (and extremely powerful) magnet. I think there are videos online of objects (such as wheelchairs!) flying towards them and sticking, which are quite amusing, but quench the magnet which costs a fortune to fix. :D

 - only about the wheelchairs and things flying into/onto an MRI scanner. Not about you riding horses bareback - am very blase about that
I decided to have a life change and be more spontaneous. Starting tomorrow.

I live near Middlesbrough :D
All riding at present is done on local bridle paths, with as many layers on as possible (it's bl**dy cold out there at the minute!!) and with a saddle on as current horse, although lovely, is bony and uncomfotable :D

I can imagine the North East right now wouldn't be the warmest of places for any bareback riding :D

Quite like the way you said 'at present' though

Roll on the summer eh? Though not sure what you can do about your horse being bony and uncomfortable! :-)

Hmm, should probably read things back before posting! :D

To set the record straight, in the summer I go out in a T shirt and jodhpurs - I haven't got long enough hair to be doing Lady Godiva impressions, and have no desire to get arrested!! )

And on the bony horse front, the only answer is to borrow another one! :D

I used to do a lot of bareback show jumping when I was younger, but have acquired a bit more sense since I came off and landed on a scaffolding fence, resulting in a large divot in my left hip and two weeks on crutches.

Now I’ve taken up skiing, I have another option for breaking my neck so can be a bit more sensible with the riding

:lol:you guys are funny! I guess "bareback riding" is rather a cowboy expression meaning without a saddle ha ha ha .. there are a few words we use here in Canada that my brit friends giggle at..

Lynn thankyou for your wellwishes :-)
