Where? Haven't got a clue!!!

Unless your spectacles are a wrap round design, you may find the wind gets behind them and your eyes water. I wear glasses under goggles, and have done for many years. You should have goggles to protect your eyes and for snowy days, when your glasses will invariably steam up. You'll need OTG goggles, or goggles with an insert clip which matches your prescription.

I do have one more question: I wear spectacles and have a pair of Reactolites for outdoor/indoor wear. Will these be fine on the slopes or will I need goggles on top, which now begs the second question: Can you actually wear goggles over spectacles????

Hi knapdog,
I wear varifocal reactolites on the slopes, and they're absolutely fine as long as the sun is shining. However, when the light goes 'flat' you can't see the bumps unless you're wearing goggles. Also, you need goggles when it's snowing. You can buy special goggles to go over your glasses. I have some and they work fine unless I get all hot and sweaty and stop, when my glasses fog up on the inside. I've tried using anti-fog spray but the only thing that seems to work is lifting up my goggles when I stop, and being very careful not to bend over (which makes them fog up straight away).

Well we are back from a wonderful week in Obergurgl. Thank you for all of your replies on a number of issues. We made some good friends and the skiing and weather were excellent!
As a first time skier it took me a long time to get my turns right but by the end of the week I was on the parallel turns. If there are 10 things to remember for a turn then I really needed to get at least 8 correct to do a proper smooth turn. I fell over more times than I can remember. What I found initially confusing was the leaning out to the downward slope on the turn as well as digging my knees in toward the slope. My heart was in my mouth so many times and often I started careering down the slope out of control!
Obergurgl was great. I just wished I could have explored the different Blue runs as most of the time I was on the easier parts of one blue. My son, also a first timer, was on Reds on day 4 and was about to be taken on a Black on the last day except the wind and visibility deteriorated and the lifts were closed. Oh to be young and fearless!!
I can't wait to go again!

Well done Knapdog, it sounds as though you and your son got on really well :D
I know what you mean about trying to remember 10 things - I never seem to be able to remember more than about two at once, and I get to the bottom and remember all the things I forgot to do
