Les Gets - Lack of Snow

As for January 24th 2005, we struggled to even get around the village :lol:

I can remember 2 or 3 school ski trips in half term (feb) back in the 90's with very dodgy snow. We always went to Austria for some reason.

Dont let them fool you, we all want snow and will hang on every thread about the weather all J2ski members will tell you, but I have just read my tea leaves and there is no snow for the alps this year,so if it dose`nt snow I will pay for everyones skiing next year. Happy days :)

Hi Pete, Looking different in the Alps this morning! This is Les Gets village centre about half an hour ago. There's more to come this week too. It's early to say we are in for a bumper season and that there will still be snow in Feb, but it's a start. I think it's reasonable to start getting excited now!

We are off to Morzine in Late Jan and I too have being looking at every thread possible. I did read one last week that had predicted the correct weather for Oct & Nov and it said that Decemeber would be mixed with snow and then a few days warmer weather and then back to colder weather. The Good news is it said Jan and Feb would have cold sunny weather with plenty of snow!! Hopefully it will be right!! But if all fails seeminly it is impossible for there to be no snow in Avoriaz which has had good dumps already so I think we will be ok!!! But Like you we went skiing in 2007 to Andorra and slopes were very poor and we were skiing in our T shirts in Jan!! Rather not Repeat that :wink:

Can anyone really predict a 'bumper season of snow...'?
