Rose,
How selfish! Suppose us mothers behaved like that, and left our little darlings to fend for themselves when they were ill, in case we caught it.

I don't ever remember having chickenpox myself, and my mother neither remembered or kept notes concerning her own children (typical G.P. I believe), but my whole class went down with it when I was 11 and I didn't get it. Both my kids have had it as well, and I never caught it. So maybe I have had it - either that or I have some amazing natural resistance to chickenpox.

I think people do generally only get it once, although they can get it several times.

Anyway, I hope you feel better soon,

Ally

I got it when my son was 2 weeks old. he got it when he was 4 weeks old. I had spots on my stitches. Apparently you are infectious until the spots crust over.

Years ago when my son was 13 he had it, his Dad did, kids and Dad next door and 3 people I was working with. They all said I was the carrier but I never got it then.

Rose,
What a dreadful thing! You mean I might still catch it after not getting it for all these years ...

How horrible to be labelled as a 'carrier', someone like 'Typhoid Mary' in the U.S. in 1900, except that chicken pox isn't nearly as bad as typhoid.

I had chicken pox when I was 8 years old - with a full leg plaster cast on at the same time & I can still remember how awful the itching was - & no means of scratching!! Get well soon Rose.
The plan is.... there's no plan!

Rose, you have my every sympathy. I had it when I was 19, 2 months after getting married, and I was bad with it for 3 weeks.
One of my clients in Scotland came out in Shingles the week after I went to visit her, and I have been feeling well under par this week with fuzzy head and tiredness, blocked nose and one ear not hearing properly, so I hope its not hitting me.

I really feel for you, its rank.
