Hi L,
To be a little more precise, the general pattern of train travel from Munchen Flughaven to Wörgl, is the faster S Bahn/EC train leaves at 2 minutes past the odd hour, and takes 1hr 42min. The slower S Bahn/RE/RB trains leaves at 2 min past the even hour, and take 2hr 17 min.
There are a couple of anomolies during the day.
The fast train is quicker and cheaper than car, (assuming two car passengers), is easier, very much more pleasant. It is good fun to strike up a conversation with fellow passengers.
The clincher is, on the return to the airport, there is a much higher degree of arrival time certainty by train. Thos ethings are just never late.
Yes, it is still snowing in N., but I am back in bonnie Scotland, knee in rehab, playing tennis looking like a zebra, brown face white legs.
Fully content with my winters skiing, with a fistful of new paintings, one or two that I am quite pleased with. (They aren't always right )
One lovely aspect of the winter was to meet with so many J2 skiers, some of whom were really special folk.

Nice to hear from you L! You have changed your ID, guess that was a computer thing. The chances are that you will be a retiree before we meet up again, since we do not normally go at New Year or February. You need to change job! Go full time in Niederau! Buy Michael Unger's apartment! Charge Blodyn big rent!
When you say "Blod's arranged it all", does that translate into - "Blod's in Konrad's class again?"
Oh, and I was taking some photos, - "A run down Tenladen", following the route that Caron-a took, ie from the top of the Kropfraderjoch, and then from the bottom of the Mittermoos. As I arrived from the crossover path to the bottom of the black, (High Tenladen), who should come into sight, but your mentor, Christini, going like a train, straight down. Have promised her copies!
Best wishes. Try and keep B. calm!
Respect!

Dave, you are a veritable mine of truly useful information!
I've been off work for 2 weeks now, and just could not get a late flight to N at sensible prices! However, looking forward to meeting up with you again next season.
Blodyn and I are flying into Munich on both occasions next season, staying at the Staffler. (Blod's arranged it all).
Take care, warmest regards to S, and have a good 2009. L.

Use the trains. I always use the trains. I will be on a train at 00.53 tomorrow night and in my hotel at the Hintertux about 10.00 to get a good days riding done without having to take an extra night accomodation.

Hi Dave Mac,
Yes, RESPEC'!!!
And yes, soz, I am now (accidentally)registered on J2SKI under LTD and ldavies. must speak to mr admin!
and yes, blod has led from the start with next year's visits. in fact, she has more or less presented me with a 'fait accompli' on both occasions and simply told me she's booked the flights and please can she have the money!
but i'm cool about that as i seem to have introduced someone to their own love affair with Niederau, which is kind of nice, isn't it?!!!
blod'd sister and brother in law have also visted but now have a small baby, but will hopfully visit again when baby is a little older.
blodyn secured pretty spectacular flight deals with Lufthansa: £95 return pp, for new year and then for february half term 2010.
i have your little pictures which am trying to work out where in my flat to display. thank you!
and the snow this season: faberoonie!
had an email from sepp schellhorn recently saying that they are now looking forward to spring. i'll work in the ski school over feb half term probably.
my mother is still with us so cannot consider anything ref her property. i didn't take a last pic of the Vicky when i was there and i so regret that now, because unless i visit for a few days in the summer, by new year, the vicky will be no more.
BTW, where is the link to Ellistine's wife's paragliding video?
love to your family,
L.
