Twin tips are skis that have a curved back end as well. They are designed to make riding backwards (switch) easier, and facilitate switch landings. Another advantage in powder is: you have more "effective" length. For example, my twintips are 172. But, the actual contact length is about a 165. So, they handle like a 165, but float like a 172 in powder.

Hmmm now i have really to to think about a budget, would you say i could get in ski's and bindings for about 350-400 ?

Yeh.. the skis at Freeze were £255 or something, could pick up some decent bindings for not a lot on top of that. Remember second hand bindings can be good but you will have to pay around £25 to have them mounted.

Edit: Also any recommendations on bindings, as a park beginner i want something stable but will allow me to improve and something that will we smooth of slopes and pow.
