No, unfortunately there is no guarantee that the current forecasts are accurate... beyond 48 hours the only thing that the model-based forecasts (including ours) can give you is the general outlook.

That said, when the models start to strongly agree (from run to run, and model to model) then the confidence goes up.

Looking at the forecasts right now... it looks pretty likely that there will be some snow in the middle of next week. Into the beginning of March, the models are looking good for several bands of snow crossing the Alps - but exactly when and exactly how much (snow) is impossible to predict at this stage.

The thing to watch is the direction that the current weather system takes when it starts to move or (hopefully) is pushed out by a cold front from the East. If it doesn't move much, we could get some serious snow... if it goes East we may not get much of anything... if it goes West... it's gonna rain.

Fingers crossed... 8)

Hi mossballs - I've been to Les Gets lots of times. You should have a great time - particularly if you get some fresh snow either before you go or whilst you are there. If you pm me I'll send you a couple of photos to show you how nice it is! Have a great time )
The plan is.... there's no plan!

Yes and no. Very densely packed snow mixed with periods of sun and clouds and a lot of traffic will start to turn to ice. I work at a ski resort and I'm starting to notice a huge difference from when I start work to when I finish

Looks as if accuweather is coming in line with the GFS. What was looking like rain/snow is now more like snow for week commencing 3/3 - Good News !
