Personally I don't like most of the POCs. Just bought a new one and one of the main deciding factors (apart from the obvious fit, safety etc) was the shape. Many helmets look like you have a bucket on your head or that you are the type of person that needs to wear one all day due to medical conditions (if you know what I mean) - I think the POCs have this kind of look!
I ended up buying a Scott helmet, really streamlined and very light. Having worn it this week when it was warm I found it extremely comfortable. It does not have a big fur lined inside, which for me is far too hot
Agree with all of the points above, comfort is a big factor - you will be wearing it for a many many hours each day!!

But if you have the choice over ones that are more visually appealing (to each individual), wouldn't you go for that one? Or would you go for the "big brand" based on, because it's POC it must be good, despite it having the shape of a bucket? What's your definition of quality?
The helmet debate will go on and on....it always does

If I was concerned about how I looked while skiing I wouldn't wear a helmet.
The POC lids don't look great but that's not really the point. The are very good quality and that's the most important factor really.

When in doubt?....Flat out.

When choosing my current helmet I did try on a couple POC variants. They do make your head look a bit like a football but I would have gone for one if the fit was good. I actually didn't find them comfortable and ended up with a Smith Optics helmet. I think it's the Vantage model. It's been brilliant - really comfortable and it also has top opening vents if the temperatures are high.
