Actually Dave Mac cotton socks are the last thing i would wear. They hold on to moisture (sweat) so smell, and your feet can get freezing cold late in the afternoon.

So, some like it padded, some like it thin and FQ likes it so it slips on your hand

Smartwool ski socks are all i wear.
Skied: Arinsal, La Plagne, Alpe D'huez, Flaine, Les Arcs, Morzine, Les Gets, Avoriaz, Sauze, Courchevel, Val Thorens
