Been to VT a couple of times incluing last Jan

The Viking (on "bar street") is now part of Saloon bar above it but still the best place for cheap beers Apres ski
The Frog is legendary but not cheap and stinks!

Actually I think its run by Scandinavian / Dutch people and staffed by Brits being ski bums for the season!

Have skiied all over Europe and N America and have no trouble with the French or anyone personally!

The first time we went to Val T about 10 years ago a couple of our party asked the rep where they could find the best powder. The rep looked round to see if anyone was listening and whispered, 'try the Frog and Roast Beef Pub'.
All a little bit embarrassed when they pointed out it was snow they were looking for.
