Pavel, I have some Recco reflectors spread about my clothing. In no way will they enable me to help find my friends in the event of an avalanche.
If the unthinkable happens, I want to be able to search for my friends, so we all wear Transceivers, and carry Avalanche Probes and Shovels.

Recco is passive, only a resort is equipped to do searching for buried skiers. For most victims, it will be too late. If we all use Recco, I could look forward to standing and wondering where I should start digging. Not good.

As with all insurance policies, read the very, very small print. Deep down at heart they exist to make money from us all
Both of these companies provide OP cover if you are not with a guide. Of course, in the event of a claim any insurer may refuse a claim based on you're taking unneccessary risk by not engaging a guide. You would need to be able to prove you were well prepared, well equipped and knowledgeable for the trip being undertaken. There is no such place as a little bit off-piste, so beware of the cheap policies!!
I hope this helps :D

I'm thinking that you have to go for 2 pairs as the race pair will have to conform to the regulations. They would not be much good for racing after you had then used them for freestyle.

souldrive My skis are head height and over these days. It's better for the pow
You'll do fine, just go out and ski em, don't even consider "how long" they are.
If it helps any, when I used to ride skinny skis, they were 25cm taller than me.

The timing is about right, the road can be a bit bleak, snowchains definitely.

Any problems crossing the border?

They border guards will let you in :D but sometimes want to search cars leaving Andorra, and re-entering Spain. Andorra is a tax-free country, and not in the EU.
