We normally fly into Geneva, with an early flight. If we have hired a car, we can be in resort for lunchtime, it's around a two and a half hour drive.

Rose, it really depends on your arrival airport. For example, most winters charter aircraft fly into Sion in Valais offering a very short transfer time. Within an hour you could collect your bags and be in a resort such as Nendaz, or Crans Montana.
If you want a package, Inghams are one travel op that uses Sion. The downside of a little airport which is sqeezed onto a bit of the Rhone Valley between two mountain ranges...well the Swiss have been building wind turbines at the end of Lac Leman

Thank you.

Er, the whole Massif is known as The Northern Alps. The Southern Alps contains resorts like Les Deux Alpes.

It's not your fault, really.

Right clue time!

It's a very well known European resort in the Northern Alps.
