Snow Chain Co-Operative
Started by User in Ski Chatter, 1 Reply
Could this take off?

I feel that a lot of people pay a substantial amount of money for a product which they are unlikely to use.

So I am proposing to lend my snow chains to anyone in my local area (West Berkshire)

obviously there is the chance that someone might not return the chains, but I am hoping that will be unlikely.

Am i deluded?

Pls note i am not trying to generate a business, just annoyed by the expence of this item.

I have to agree with pyrabelisk!

We are going for our second trip to Germany!

Initially we planned to go at halfterm, but finally decided on Xmas. However, this had no reflection on cost or availability ( but it is slightly more expensive at halfterm.....from our research anyway)

I have no experience on all inclusive though. We always go self catering due to have small (fusy) children in our group :-)

We ski in Oberjoch. The resort is not so high ( 1300m i think), but the resort is not crowded and the lift passes are extremely cheap.

Worth checking out!?
Munich to Oberjoch courtesy of RAC route planner.... Total distance: 98.46 miles, 158,5 km Estimated journey time: 2 h 6 min ...if you're lucky with traffic: 1 h 55 min ...if you're unlucky with traffic: 2 h 21 min

We have gone with a company called A-Plan Insurance.
They have an office in Newbury Berkshire, but I think their office for travel insurance is Farnborough (sp?)

Just checked with my insurance company to see if I am covered, and I am... which is great. £30 per day per person. It wont make up for not skiing but will help contribute to the bar bill and numb the pain a little.

Please check that your insurance company offers something similar....just in case!!!
