Paying by card in Austria

We experience a similar situation in Germany, very close to the Austrian border. €600 fee for ski hire and they only accepted cash or EC Card! We weren't prepared for that!

Hi

I have to disagree (sorry).

Goggles all the way for me.

Also, depending on how much money you spend, they can also protect your eyes. They offer much better vision too IMHO.

They will also be more robust than sun glasses, so less likely to break should you stack it
you could try something like these.... http://www.luckybums.com/Snow%20Kids%20Skis.htm

they just clip onto you childs snow boots?!

Having just taken my 3yo skiing for the second time, i have to agree will most of your comments. A brief insight into how we enjoyed our holiday.....

1. our son has a short attention span, like most 3 yo's, so we split the day into many smaller activities. We alternated skiing and sledging every 2hrs and also had many food/drink/toilet breaks

2. our instructor is a family friend whom my son is very trusting of ( obviously not everyone has a ski instructor in their network fo friends / family )

3. We had other kids in our group, this helped him learn from his "peers"

4. we took an afternoon off to go swimming!

This all resulted in a happy child and happy parents

....just got back from skiing, so another year to wait until the next trip!

However, my 3 year old son can now ski on his own :D and we had a great weeks skiing in Oberjoch, Germany :D
Thanks ISE.

To be honest, I am not worried about the fact that it might destroy the very fabric of the universe .....just concerned about having to fit my snow chains...it was difficult enough during my trial run on Sunday
We are going skiing in Germany for Christmas.
According to the snow report on this web site there will be 272cm of snow on the 22nd in Oberstdorf.
However, on uk.weather.com no snow will fall on the 22nd?!?!?

Who to beleive?
