Oooh pretty pictures, new kit...must resist :D Some bright colours, soon we will all be back in neons. I can't quite visualise you wearing bright baggy pants though, I wonder why??
Yes, ise, pretty much like all the other ski mags. So why can I never get the right bit of the page I'm reading enlarged???? It's always a different bit that comes up bigger  |
A few non glacier resorts in Europe will have a limited amount of terrain open in November. Going to a glacier resort is a safe bet, and glacier skiing is not normally too steep for learning. For glacier resorts, Hintertux will be open, as will Tignes and Zermatt, and possibly L2A, Stubai?? Anyone know for sure?
If you are a beginner the runs will seem quite long enough! If you fancy Mayrhofen, the bus to Hintertux does take a while each morning. If you stayed in Tignes Val Claret (for example), you would be much closer to the lift. |
Saas-Fee would be worth checking out. Ticks quite a few of your boxes, has much less mileage than Zermatt, but the scenery is stunning. Train as far as Brig, then Postbus. Village is car free like Zermatt.

Take it easy on the 1st runs of the season :D We all need to see the photos when you get back! Try not to get too excited ) |
From the website for the Grand Massif.
It might be a bit wet lower down, depending on the temps, but you should be fine :D |
Well, I'll be in the next valley (or so) over mid to late Jan, but I can't really recommend it, because I'm not sure what made Zermatt a good experience for your family. Let the forum know what you want from your trip :D
I'll be in Zermatt again in November. |
Oh no  it's another one...help we're being overrun  |
Hi white stuff, welcome :D . For Courchevel, at Xmas time, may I suggest holding off from buying a 3 Vallees Pass until you get there and see what the conditions are like with the links to the other villages.
