Bansko information, are the lift lines bad? is he place full of drag lifts?

It really depends what time of year you go. At half term and New Year the queues at the bottom are bad but for the last two seasons the resort has been running free buses that take you up the mountain to ease the queues.
The chalets in town have minibuses for a bit of queue-jumping too!
There are a couple of drag lifts but you can easily avoid them and use the chair lifts instead.
Hope that helps :)
Venice plus ski week

A lot of our guests fly home from Venice and add a couple of days onto their week to spend some extra time there. It's a lovely way to end your holiday.
There are areas in Italy where you will get in trouble for skiing off-piste, for example anywhere that is above a piste as you could cause an avalanche onto the skiers below. These areas are prety well marked. If it's a high risk day for avalanches you will also get in trouble but it's more common sense than anything else.
There are several designated off-piste areas and the Marmolada glacier has some of the best off piste that I've done, it's a fantastic free ride area.
The Dolomiti Superski pass covers a massive area and if you staying somewhere with access to the Sella Ronda you will have plenty of pistes at your disposal. If you're keen to adventure a bit further and use the bus system you can ski from other valleys which are all a little bit different.
And the food's great! :D
Please help with my research

Silk socks only versus thicker socks

I have terrible circulation in my feet so after a few seasons trial and error, I go for a very thin pair of silk sock liners and a thin merino wool pair.
I wouldn't say that keeps my feet 'toasty' warm but at least these days I don't have to stand in the ladies holding one foot at a time under the hand dryer to get some feeling back into them :D

Hi Mikke,

My partner and I will be in the Dolomites this Winter and want to pratise Italian so it would be great to meet up - we can help each other (although he is Australian so his English might not be great - mine is good though)!
We are based in Alba di Canazei.
Where to go ?

You'll probably love the Dolomites (1200km on your lift pass), great intermediate cruising and stunning scenery. The apres-ski is fun and the food is fantastic!
I'm on my way back over there now :)

There's a bit of coverage on the slopes and some more snow forcast this week but it could do with another decent fall to top it up properly.
